... being the journey the writting of this blog, because the risky and exciting path we took began many months ago.
Anyway, as any first entry in any blog, this should be devoted to upfront disclaimers and apologies, warning the readers that one will not always be able to meet the promised frequency of publishing, that not every entry will have the same depth of thinking, that this represents only my own thoughts, but in no way the formal opinion of my employer, etc, etc, bla, bla, bla.
Add to these the fact that I am not an English native speaker, so this will be double effort for me... and of course for you, long-suffering (not so long?) readers.
But, what is this blog for? Why am I doing this?
Right now, I am overseeing an awesone project in a major financial institution, trying to change its culture of work through the use of collaborative tools in the cloud. The path has been, is, and will be, plenty of glamorous and dark moments, learnings and deceptions... and I started to feel that all these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain (cheers, Rutger!).
So, I decided, more determined that convinced, to register all the different things that could be of some (if any) interest, with a loose filter and a wide open funnel, but all of them related in a sense with our project. Some interesting readings about organizational sociology, a curious communication pattern we have discovered unexpectedly, a well-known pitfall about enterprise social networking hardly suffered in our own flesh, a personal insight not so formal-not so demonstrable...
I know that the border between general interest and non-disclosed know-how is thin, really thin, but I feel that sharing some of these experiences with the rest of the world could be profitable not only to others, but also to ourselves, sanctioning somehow our approach (and trial-and-error's), and, hopefully, gathering new insights and experiences from partners in this way from all over the world.
So, no more bla-bla-bla. Let's see if the attempt is worth of it. As I said, this first entry was just to frame and whine. See you in the next issue!
